In today’s video, we’re excited to introduce a new product: fiberglass-reinforced water-activated tape (WAT).

This tape is made by laminating a 35gsm specialty kraft paper with fiberglass reinforcements to enhance its tensile strength. The bottom layer is coated with a food-grade starch-based adhesive, which activates upon contact with water, ensuring strong and secure bonding.

In daily packaging, many people still use BOPP tape, also known as cellophane tape. But have you ever wondered whether your parcels are truly secure during delivery?

Unlike BOPP tape—which is made by directly coating OPP film with pressure-sensitive adhesive and often lacks strong bonding—water-activated tape features a three-layer structure, including fiberglass reinforcement. This design provides superior sealing strength, making it much harder for cartons to be tampered with or opened during transit.

Moreover, water-activated tape is a more eco-friendly choice compared to plastic-based BOPP tape. It’s recyclable, biodegradable, and aligns with today’s growing demand for sustainable packaging.
