In 1997, Sony got to work with Panavision on what's considered the world's first Digital Cinema Camera ever made. Behind the Scenes, George Lucas helped to push Sony to create a digital camera to use in Star Wars Attack of the Clones creating an eventual transition to digital in the film industry.
