Join us as we spend a day wandering through the historic Dutch city of Delft, Netherlands! We have visited Delft three times this past year. It remains one of our favorite Dutch cities. We share a personal look into a few of the sights in Delft. We explore the Delft Market, located in the historic market square. We then wander through the city center with sights that include the Old Church, New Church, City Hall, scenic canals, and local bakeries.

Delft is only an hour from Amsterdam Central Station and less than 15 minutes from The Hague Central Station by train.

Delft's main market is held on Thursdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. There are more than 150 stalls at the market, so there something for everyone to enjoy. You will find delicacies such as cheese, nuts, vegetables, fruit, fish, chocolates, and much more!

Delft is a charming canal-ringed town, known for its signature blue and white Delft Blue pottery. Its influence can still be seen throughout Delft today. Johannes Vermeer, a painter from the Dutch Golden Age, who was most notably known for the Girl With The Pearl Earring, was born in Delft. Delft was also home to the Dutch Prince, William of Orange. When he died in 1584, he was buried at Delft's New Church, and since then, the Dutch royal family continues to be laid to rest in Delft.

Whether you live in the Netherlands or are visiting for the very first time, we recommend spending a full day in Delft!
