What is life like in Avondale Estates? Avondale Estates was founded in 1924 and it is a close knit community, a beautiful setting and a diverse architectural styles. As you can see, there's a Germanic influence in the architecture here in downtown Avondale Estates. The community offers Lake Avondale, a community club, excuse me, tennis courts, and a swimming pool, to residents. It's home to the first Waffle House which opened in 1955 and is now a museum. It has Georgia's longest running theater and has a designated arts district. There are many festivals and Art Walk, The Lantern Parade that take place in Avondale Estates.
