This is all the tips I have for learning how to balance a hoop on your head! Some additional thoughts I have for you:

The longer the object that you are balancing, the easier it will be! Just make sure it is light. I show myself using a flyswatter in this video, but other things that work are plastic broom poles, dowel rods, and back-scratchers!

3/4" hoops are easier for me to balance than 5/8"

My all-over taped hoops are easier to balance than bare polypro hoops. It is harder for me to balance gaffer taped hoops because they are bumpy and can throw off the balance a little bit.
