Kashi das puja is also known as Karah puja, In ancient time specially in eastern UP people from village use to pray for their crops ,for crops water is most essential thing so that this ritual is perform every year in seeking good amount of rain so their will be good amount of crops , good amount crops means prosperity and prosperity means their life in good condition. Kashi das puja is organise by all the villager not by one individual, this puja is specially perform in June July in search of rain , if there is good amount of rain there will good amount of crops . Once there is a season for harvesting each and every people from village separate some amount of grain so that they can bring these grain in Karah puja for thanking the god for water and pray for the upcoming seasons and Interesting part is that on this day all those who came in this Karah puja with empty stomach for the gratitude of god.
