Hi everyone, my name is Kieran and I'm Dad to Skye and Copper. They are my two sassy, talkative and picky Alaskan Klee Kai dogs. In this video I'm going to talk about one of our favourite dog food delivery companies in the UK who provide fresh meals for dogs all around the UK like Skye and Copper - and they're called Butternut Box.

What appealed to us straightaway was the fact that they use real ingredients - that's fresh food in their recipes. Butternut Box's ingredient labels are really clear. You'll see exactly what goes into your dog's food and it's ingredients that you'll know, you'll recognise and probably most of them you'll have eaten. There's complete transparency on the part of Butternut Box. Their recipes usually hit around the 60% protein (meat) mark and the rest is made up of fruit and veggies and other minerals and vitamins - all the good stuff. We like that they cook their recipes at low temperatures so all the nutritional goodness is retained in the food and there's lots of flavour which we think is particularly important because Skye is notoriously fussy and when the food smells good, she's much more enticed to come to her bowl and eat. Once Butternut Box's meals are prepared, they'll freeze them and they're shipped to your door.

Butternut Box turns up on your doorstep and it's simple. You just take your meals out of your box, you can store some in the fridge and they last in your fridge for up to 5 days. The rest should go in your freezer and then you take them and defrost when you're ready to serve a new packet. I should point out as well that all packaging in the Butternut Box delivery is recyclable. So it's a great eco-friendly so not only are you going to feel great about feeding your dog fresh meals, you can also feel good that you're actually doing your bit for the environment too.

What I also like is that obviously I've got two dogs - Copper and Skye. They're a bit different - Skye is skinnier, she's more lean, Copper is a little bit chubbier. Skye is pickier and I want to get Skye to always eat her meals so she'll probably benefit from the ones that are slightly more indulgent should we say where Copper could do with losing a couple of pounds, so I'm interested in the ones that are low in fat for him. By entering your dog's details into their website, you're able to get recipes that are suited for both of your individual dogs which obviously I also really like.

I do think Butternut Box represents the best overall value. They provide a premium service, so even though they're slightly cheaper than other brands out there, you're still going to pay between £30 and £70 depending on the size of your dog and how many dogs you have. I'm currently paying £66 a month for my dogs' food which for me is well worth the investment.
