Street Fighter II Credits Compilation (1992-1994) - NintendoComplete

Описание к видео Street Fighter II Credits Compilation (1992-1994) - NintendoComplete

A showcase of several variations of the classic Street Fighter II series' end credit roll taken from games released between 1992 and 1994.

The endings were selected based on the variations of the theme song, so while not every game is shown, the various mixes of the track (that first appeared in the 92 arcade SF2 Champion Edition) across arcade and home platforms are.

Versions that featured the same mixes as already shown were omitted (FM Towns, Sharp x68000, et al). The remix from Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix was also purposely omitted because it's f'ing awful in my opinion, and is nearly 20 years removed from the rest of the games shown. Ditto for the PC Dos version of SSF2 that Capcom published themselves. It plays alright, but the sound in that version is a trainwreck (I believe its merely a conversion of the SNES music to a format than can be played back using a generic FM/midi patch set to accommodate different sound cards).

I have uploaded full playthroughs of all of the titles shown. To see them, you may either click the game's logo at the top right of the video, or visit my Playthrough playlists for the various titles.

The SNES version of the Champion Edition original song appears in the SNES port of The World Warrior, even though the arcade version of The World Warrior uses an entirely different song, so that's why it's ending seems so different. Street Fighter II Turbo (SNES, 1993) features the same credit roll as the other games labeled Champion Edition and the same music as in the SNES World Warrior port.

I love this song! It was always a fitting reward for destroying the CPU over and over again - this credit roll would only show after the ending if you beat the game at its highest difficulty level without any losses over the entire game. Not an easy task, especially against SSF2T's mercilessly cheap AI routines. I didn't mind not seeing that ending too often though, since the music from the Super games was always a bit too cheesy, cheery, and reverb-soaked for my tastes.

The versions as they appear in the video:
1. Street Fighter II' Champion Edition (1992, CPS1 arcade)
2. Street Fighter II: The World Warrior (1992, SNES)
3. Street Fighter II' Champion Edition (1993, PC Engine)
4. Street Fighter II' Special Champion Edition (1993, Sega Genesis)
5. Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers (1993, CPS2 arcade)
6. Super Street Fighter II (1994, SNES)
7. Super Street Fighter II (1994, Sega Genesis)
8. Super Street Fighter II Turbo (1994, CPS2 arcade)
9. Super Street Fighter II Turbo (1994, 3DO)

I hope you enjoy it!
