One of the most beautiful beaches in Kavala Greece...
Vrasidas is a small beach near Nea Peramos, located in a cove on the tip of a cape which the locals call by the same name. Except for Vrasida, there are a few more smaller beaches on the cape.
The road for the cape begins from the entrance of the old castle above Nea Peramos. It is a dirt road but its condition is good for all types of vehicles. In order to reach the beach of Vrasida, after you pass the castle you should go straight and only left when you have to choose between left and right.

The beach of Vrasida is about 200 meters long and the city of Kavala may be seen in the distance. It is sandy, with very shallow water, and due to the shelter of the neighboring cliffs waves are very rare even in windy days. The disadvantage is that in the high season it may get crowded.

There is a very interesting story from the ancient years that many believe to be a myth, with regards to General Vrasidas the Spartan. During the campaign against Anfipolis, Vrasidas was trapped by the Athenians inside the gulf of N. Peramos. In order to escape, Vrasidas managed to pass his boat through a small strip of land, during the night , and leave into the open sea.
This is how Vrasidas's peninsula took his name.
