thought to do an animatic about a ralsei who defiantly fights for his right to control his own narrative. i know this may be a touch ooc since we haven't seen the full spectrum of ralsei's emotions yet (as of the ch 3-4 release), but i thought it'd be fun stretching his character out to angrily spit at the prophecy for trapping him in a situation he wants a different ending. i so badly want to see ralsei's anger as something to fear. not because it's harmful but because it's a force to be reckoned with. that it's the purest determination. this is a ralsei challenging whatever entity looms above everyone to do their worse, challenging that he will accept his fate. that he won't go down without a fight, and that they watch as he and his loved ones suffer so that it'll be etched in their memory. at the very least, they will be remembered. whether that entity is the player, gaster, the prophecy is up to you. anything that holds so much power and sway to the narrative is who ralsei is talking to.

i also made this animatic because i believe ralsei will experience a type of death somewhere in the prophecy. his "death" could mean literally anything: sacrifice, betrayal, abandonment, price. that's why i included many different interpretations of how he could "die", not just literally. i wanted him to tell that entity he challenged to watch at what they're allowing to happen, that his existence will not go down quietly. i also thought the "player heart" can also mean as surrender of control. i don't know or think ralsei's going to be a "cage" but i also like to imagine that he surrenders control over the narrative while stabbing it behind the back. i don't know if it makes any sense. i just want ralsei to be scarily angry and this song was perfect for it.

let out a lot of emotions with this animatic. this was so emotionally heavy to make so i hope y'all like it! (also i know darkners don't bleed. the blood is more symbolic than anything :P)
