The issue with the failed steering column lock actuator affects mainly Audi A6 (C6), A8 (D3), and the first generation Q7 models from Audi, but the VW Passat B6/B7 or the Mercedes C-class W204 are more often affected as well.
When the steering column lock actuator fails you won't be able to start your car unless you delete a specific fault code related to this part. However, first you have to wake up the car to establish a connection with the OBD scanner.
