This video is one of five parts taken from a live performance at the Richmond Hill Centre for the Arts on 20 October 2019 in honour of the centenary of the birth of The Báb., Prophet Herald of the Baha’i faith.

The program included four dramatic monologues as well as music performances.

This video is the dramatic monologue by the character of Mullá Husayn, an authentic historical figure here played by Reza Mostmand.

Mullá Husayn, also known by the honorific title Jináb-i Bábu'l-Báb (meaning Gate of the Gate, a reference to Báb which means The Gate) lived in 19th century Persia and was the very first follower of the Báb, and therefore the First of the so-called "Letters of the Living" - the group of the 18 first believers in the Báb's newly revealed faith.
