The incident occurred on June 15, 2021 in Oakdale, MN. The driver advised that the smoke started in the engine compartment. The trooper initially considered attempting to deal with the fire using an extinguisher but observed that the fire had spread to near the gas tank. Oakdale Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire without issue and the driver of the car was given a ride by the Minnesota State Patrol.
