The Institute on Statelessness and Inclusion in collaboration with UNICEF invite you to the launch of The Child's Right to Nationality and Childhood Statelessness: A Toolkit for Child Rights Actors. Opening remarks will be delivered by Ms. Mikiko Otani, Chair of the Committee on the Rights of the Child.

The toolkit is a user-friendly resource designed to enhance engagement with the Committee on the Rights of the Child for all child rights actors, including UN agencies. In additional to providing practical guidance on engaging the Committee, the toolkit also includes a checklist to orient users towards gaps in legal frameworks that can give rise to childhood statelessness, as well as a template and guidance note to facilitate drafting submissions. The webinar will focus on presenting these resources, together with the experience of partners who have successfully used these resources to engage the Committee on the Rights of the Child on the child’s right to a nationality and childhood statelessness.

We are also pleased to launch our Fact Sheet as an additional resource which illustrates increased engagement around the child’s right to nationality and protection of stateless children by the Committee on the Rights of the Child, with guidance on how it can support further advocacy in this area.
