In this episode of the Cast Net Sniper, we head to the famous Volusia Bar Lighthouse. Constructed in 1886, this lighthouse guarded the channel to the mighty St. Johns River that passes through the giant Lake George, Florida!
This channel was carved into the lake to create safe passage for giant barge ships that were supplying the settlements north of the lake. I had to stop by this famous location and throw the net to see what is laying down there deep underwater. We caught many new species in this episode including the saltwater species that are present in this lake!
Cast net fishing is a fantastic way to survey the fish species in these areas and the nets don't lie when it comes to fishing.
