The Jazz Gallery Lockdown Sessions began on April 11, 2020 as a way to present concerts online during the pandemic. The format mitigated the sound issues that were often found in early at-home livestreams by allowing musicians to pre-record a short set ahead of time. Each week four musicians presented their music from home and chatted, answering questions from the audience, enjoying friendly banter in between sets. The Jazz Gallery presented 40 Lockdown Sessions throughout 2020 and 2021, offering a lifeline to musicians and audiences during the pandemic.
