The ELP [FR🇫🇷 :](Engin Lourd Pénétration) [EN🇬🇧 :](Heavy Penetration Engine) is a special armored fire vehicle which is designed to penetrate the heart of the flames as its name suggests.

It is equipped with a nozzle system that sprays water onto the shielding to lower the temperature inside, with cameras connected to a very high-tech on-board computer, to observe the evolution of the fire, and with a fire hose.

Inside, two firefighters take their places : one for driving (tanker training is required) and another for the fire hose.

In winter, its enormous tank can be removed to accommodate people in difficulty, up to 11/12 people maximum.
