Christiana Figueres, Executive Secretary, UNFCCC, led the launch of We Mean Business (http://www.wemeanbusinesscoalition.org) at Climate Week NYC Opening Day on September 22, 2014.

Climate Week NYC, convened by The Climate Group (http://www.theclimategroup.org), is a key international platform for governments, businesses and civil society to collaborate on low carbon leadership, through a week filled with events, activities and high-profile meetings. Launched at Climate Week NYC 2014, We Mean Business (http://www.wemeanbusinesscoalition.org) is an unprecedented collaboration between business groups working with the world’s most influential companies to drive climate action.

Tim Cook, CEO, Apple, said "The time for inaction has passed. To leave world better than we found it is our core value". Peter Agnefjäll, President and CEO, IKEA Group, pointed out: "We want bold commitments from governments to drive low carbon business".

Eric Roston, Sustainability Editor, Bloomberg moderated the talk with other prominent business leaders of the project. Aron Cramer, President and CEO, BSR added: "The climate has changed for business and the new report we are launching today proves it. Let’s convert potential into results". Peter Bakker, President and CEO, The World Business Council for Sustainable Development said "Our report shows CEOs worldwide are twice as likely as they were in 2012 to identify sustainability as their top priority".
