My name is Julia Zhang, I'm a hematologist and medical oncologist here at The Everett Clinic. From a young age, I wanted to be a doctor because of the inspiring example from my parents. Both of them are physicians, I witnessed how they spent their time to help and serve patients with their dedication and professional skills. I grew up in China, I get my first degree as MD in China and there I practice as ophthalmologist. After that, I returned to school to approach a master and a PhD program in ophthalmology. I try to know the patient as a big picture because I want to know the patient's overall healthcare, not only oncologic issues, because we want to treat the body as a whole, and especially for the newly diagnosed oncology patients they are very anxious. I always try to tailor the treatment plan to fit the patient's best interest. That's the art of medicine.
