2000 RetroSkins Highlights: Washington Redskins vs Jacksonville Jaguars

Описание к видео 2000 RetroSkins Highlights: Washington Redskins vs Jacksonville Jaguars

In what would be the pinnacle of the 2000 season, the Redskins went into Jacksonville and blew past the once mighty Jaguars, 35-16, to improve their season record to 6-2. Brad Johnson and Albert Connell left the Jaguars secondary in the dust with three touchdown connections, while Stephen Davis trampled what was left of the Jags’ defense.

Future RetroSkins favorite Mark Brunell was left shaking his head in this one, as his teammates treated the Redskins to four turnovers, two of which were converted into first half touchdowns. The win capped a 5-game winning streak for Washington, and was the fifth straight loss for Jacksonville.

It was all downhill from here for Washington in 2000, with meddlesome you-know-who getting his hands dirty by undermining an otherwise productive starting QB while nudging Turner closer to the edge. The Redskins tumbled to a 2-6 finish to the season that saw the end of Turner and, under this new management, the end of team success and stability for a long time.

Beloved Pat Summerall and John Madden make their RetroSkins curtain call in this one – this was their last call of a Redskins victory as long-time partners for CBS/FOX (although both each call a smattering of Redskins wins separately over the following few years).
