Harjinder Singh Dhami has once again been elected as the President of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), marking his fifth consecutive term. Out of 136 total votes, Dhami secured a massive 117 votes, while his opponent Mithu Singh managed only 18.
Akali Dal leader Daljit Singh Cheema hailed it as a major success for the party and praised members for re-electing an honest and dedicated leader.
This result shows a strong grip of Dhami within the SGPC, as the opposition’s vote count dropped drastically compared to last year.
