Chinese hotels offer niche services to meet increasing demand as Covid restrictions continue

New and interesting hotel experiences are attracting tourists in China as COVID-19 restrictions continue to hamper holidays.

This hotel in east China has upgraded some of its guest rooms with e-sports equipment like gamepads and gaming monitors.

According to a report by a Chinese research institute, the total number of e-sports hotels in the country is expected to exceed 20,000 by 2023.

Other hotels, meanwhile, are shifting attention to upgrading or adding to their dining services.

With fresh-air activities like camping and picnicking gaining popularity among young people, hotels are creating special take-away food packages like tea sets that can be enjoyed outdoors.
