Oxidase Test - Microbiology (for Pseudomonas)

Описание к видео Oxidase Test - Microbiology (for Pseudomonas)

The Oxidase test is a key biochemical test used by microbiologists in the lab today; used for gram negative rods to differentiate between your enterobacteriaceae and your non-enterobacteriaceae.

A negative oxidase test is no colour change after 60 seconds and means the organism is likely a member of the enterobacteriaceae family (with the exception of some bugs such as Acinetobacter, Stenotrophomonas, some Bordetella species etc.)

A positive oxidase test is a deep purple colour and means the organism is not a member of the enterobacteriaceae family (with the exception of Plesiomonas species).
