In 2013, oil company Woodside Petroleum (now known as Woodside Energy) abandoned a Western Australian Government-backed project to build an offshore oil drilling megastructure off the coast of James Price Point, near Broome, WA. For years prior to 2013, the project was hotly contested, and the opposing voices came from traditional owners, locals and environmentalists, concerned about how natural gas extraction will ruin this sacred and untouched part of the world.

In 2009, 60 Minutes reporter Tara Brown visited the might Kimberley to see for herself this magnificent beauty, and the real dangers the Woodside project would have done if it wasn't stopped.
