New Pearl Recipe w/ 20-21 Artist Loft paint | I’m on “Cloud 9” with these results!

Acrylic pouring teaching video! I can’t tell you exactly when I started using the new artist loft “flow” soft body paint, in retrospect it’s been a while. It just does not work as well as it used to for this technique. Literally hundreds of experiments later, a solution has been found! Working alongside ‪@gratefulcreations‬ we contributed findings that play a role in this recipe. I hope this video is helpful, clears up confusion, and makes this technique enjoyable!

New base-coat with 20/21 artist loft
•2 parts floetrol
•1 part artist loft soft body white acrylic
•1 part apple barrel white matte acrylic
•1 part satin enamel (Behr untinted deep base OR Decoart satin enamel in white)
• .5 part GAC 800
• .1 part Zinsser water based paint booster(a few drops in 8oz cup)
.Water to thin (whipping cream consistency)

A few notes...

•GAC 800 and Zinsser are optional, If used your results will be better. Liquatex gloss pouring medium is another option. These additives will help stabilize the pearls to make them cleaner and dry well.
•Decoart satin enamel is more reactive, a full half part may be too much.
•When mixing a dark color, replace the white paint with your color of choice, be sure use untinted base 3 Behr satin enamel.
•The bright white Behr satin enamel also works for this recipe
•I believe the artist loft soft body paint is still a great paint to use! It works better when paired with another paint. Apple barrel has been my favorite, I’ve discovered replacing the Apple barrel with either a chalk paint or milk paint can also give good effect. When just Apple Barrel or milk paint was used, it was to reactive. The artist loft seems to balance it out.

If you don’t live in the US and these products are not available to you there may be some other options.
•MelyD uses only water and paint and a bit of Liquitex pouring medium and Decoart satin enamel in white to get her beautiful results. I have not tried this with the new formula of artist loft.
•Elyse Fournier would use the following in various ways to get beautiful effects;
-Wall paint (Dulux Diamond in eggshell)
-Folkart milk paint
-Decoart satin enamel
-Floetrol

Puddle Paint mixture:
•1 part paint (.25 if Golden fluid)
•1 part floetrol
• .25 part Liquatex gloss pouring medium
• .25 part GAC 800 or Golden color pouring medium
•Water to thin (similar consistency to base)
