See, the owner’s plan was pretty simple: sell his Pro Mod car and race the COPO for fun. But Pro Mod racing was just too much fun to quit, so the COPO never made its debut. The car literally went from Reliable Carriers’ truck to the owner’s garage where it’s been carefully shuffled ever since. For the rest of us mortals, that means a factory-fresh, 8-second whirlwind that’s never even done a burnout! Blistering the quarter in roughly eight seconds at 160MPH, this coupe’s supercharged LSX 350 currently provides the fastest ride you’ll ever take in a COPO Camaro. Behind that mill, a race-prepped Turbo-Hydramatic 400 3-speed automatic spins an aluminum third member that’s fitted with a spool-type differential and 4.10 gears. That drivetrain pushes a fully adjustable, COPO-specific suspension that's complete with un-assisted rack-and-pinion steering.
