With our connection established, you will see that the right side of our interface now shows the files and folders on our web server.

The top area of the interface shows a text summary of all the actions we are performing as part of this session. For example, connecting, uploading, listing directory contents, etc.

We will need to navigate our way to the html directory, because that's where all our web files need to be uploaded to.

To do so, replace the current file path with the following:

/var/www/html

We can now see the index.html file, which is the only file we currently have in the html folder.

Remember, this is the default page that loads when we type our domain name or IP address into our web browser.

Let's upload one of the files on our local machine to our production server.

Navigate your way to the web root folder on your local machine.

C:\wamp\www\

We had placed the file test.php inside this directory, earlier in the course when we setup our local server.

If you no longer have the file in your web root folder for any reason, we have a copy available in the downloads folder corresponding to this lesson. Simply copy it into your web root folder.

Upload this file to the server, so we can access it online.

Drag the file from your local computer to the server.

You will see that the file icon now appears underneath your index.html file.

This tells us that the file was uploaded properly.

If you don't see it, right click on the server side and click "Refresh".

We can test to make sure the file is working, by accessing the test.php file in our web browser.
