Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at this Advent Air Black Low Profile 13,500 BTU RV Air Conditioner. This low profile air conditioning unit is going to let you replace or add a new Advent Air air conditioner onto your RV or camper. This low profile design is going to help minimize wind resistance, to improve fuel efficiency and give you a little bit additional overhead clearance as well. Now, as I stated, this is a 13,500 BTU per hour air conditioner, so this is going to quickly and efficiently cool the inside of your RV or camper. And this is going to be compatible with ducted or ductless systems.
Now speaking of compatibility, this is going to work with your Advent Air and Dometic setups, and this is also gonna work with your Coleman Mach or Carrier setups. However, for your Coleman Mach and Carrier setups, you will need a wiring adapter. So as you see there on your screen, I am including the wiring adapters, with their item numbers, that you're going to need for either the Coleman Mach or the Carrier. Just take the wiring adapter that you need, take that item number, put in the search field of our website; that will take you to the appropriate adapter and you can add that to your order. Now, this is a bolt on installation, however, the hardware is not included with this, so you will need to source locally the installation hardware that's going to work best for your application.
So this is going to be great for your motor homes, your travel trailers and fifth wheels. But I do wanna point out that this is not approved for school buses, food trucks, enclosed utility trailers or off-roading vehicles. Now this is going to fit roofs from two and a half inches to five inches thick, with an opening size of 14 and a quarter inch long and 14 and a quarter inch wide. And speaking of measurements, just to give you some overall dimensions, just so you have a good idea of the size of this unit, looking at the length from back to front, we're sitting right at about 31 inches long. And then looking at the width here, we are sitting right at about 24 and fifteen sixteenth inches wide.
And then the overall height from top to bottom, we're sitting at about 10 and one eighth inches tall and this weighs a little under 70 pounds. Now what I would like to do is remove this cover, and I went ahead and removed the screws before our time together. So, I don't think that the cover will come off quite that easily. It does come with screws to hold it into place, but I went ahead and removed those screws just so I can pop that off a little bit easier and I wanna give you an overhead look here. Now, this air conditioner features a fan blade with a three speed motor that's going to give you ample airflow at 500 cubic feet per minute.
And the start capacitor and an electric heat strip are sold separately from this unit, however, they can be purchased to improve performance and overall comfort. Now let me go ahead and replace this cover. Now, I have dealt with other air conditioning units in the past, air conditioners for your RVs, and sometimes the covers aren't too impressive. They're kind of flimsy, they feel kind of thin and sometimes not too sure how they're going to hold up. But the Advent Air cover, on this one in particular, I'm making sure I've got this all fitted in here. As you can see, it's a good tight fit. This is pretty substantial. It doesn't feel real flimsy like other ones that I have felt in the past, so I think this is going to do a great job of protecting the internal components from water and debris. And as you can see, this cover can be, once you remove the screws along the sides and the back, this can be easily removed and then easily replaced for the times you wanna do some maintenance or cleaning. But, the cover itself really does have, it's a nice, in my opinion, thick piece of plastic for an RV air conditioner cover. Now, taking a closeup look briefly, this does feature a rigid metal frame with thick foam support pads, and hopefully you can see some of those pads there on the bottom. Those pads are going to give you support between your RV roof and air conditioner. A gasket seals the opening to prevent water seepage and air leaks, and those foam pads underneath are gonna help reduce noise. Now this is UL and CUL certified, and if this air conditioner is wh
