Workflow management software simplifies computational analysis by supporting a variety of systems ranging from desktops to HPC clusters and offering easy access to features like task parallelization, Docker/Singularity container execution, analysis checkpointing, and automatic job submission to schedulers such as Moab or SLURM. Join us for a basic overview of Nextflow [https://www.nextflow.io/], a free and open source workflow management software. Presenter Conner Copeland, of the University of Montana, will cover the key components of a Nextflow DSL2 script: processes, channels, and workflows. Conner will demonstrate beginner-friendly example code, and best of all, offer some valuable, hard-won tips to help those just getting started with Nextflow to avoid making some difficult-to-diagnose errors.
