What is the MSU-1 for the Super Nintendo? MSU-1 stands for “Media Streaming Unit 1.” It was going to be an add-on to the Super Nintendo, but it never got released. Rom hackers that are efficient in coding have made it possible to hear Super Nintendo games using the MSU-1 and an emulator. This allows CD quality music to be played and replaces the original soundtrack of the game. Take a listen to the comparisons.
