WASHINGTON DC VLOG 2021 | WHAT TO DO IN DC | CITIZENM HOTEL | BEST RESTAURANTS IN DC

Welcome to the first of a series of 4 vlogs on our trip the Washington, DC in June 2021. This is our first trip to a state outside of Florida within the continental US. On this video, we bring you along as we fly to Reagan National Airport from Orlando International Airport. We visited the White House Visitor Center. That was a great treat. I was impressed at the precision by which the two households (incoming and outgoing) transition on the day of the inauguration. With the White House still closed to visitors, the visitor center offers you a glimpse of what it looks like inside as well as all the interesting information about its history and what it is used for by the current occupants.

We walked along the National Mall but did not really take any significant shots in this video. You will get to see those in the next two when we share daytime and night time views from the more famous monuments.

As for food, DC is a haven for diverse cuisine. On this video, we share our experience for brunch at Founding Farmers. What a great place. The food was tasty and the service very friendly. Our waiter lamented how he wanted to move to Florida when he found out we had just arrived from the Sunshine State. Try the beignet and chicken waffle. They were delicious.

Before we even arrived in DC, I already had an appointment for dinner at a Filipino-Thai-Korean resto at the Wharf. As you can see, we chose well. You cannot go wrong when the resto is in the Michelin guide as one of the best in DC. The seafood in coconut milk was so delicious I want to go back just to eat it again. Ralph order the Duck confit and mung beans. Another delectable dish.
