Cunda or Alibey Island , is an island administratively connected to the Ayvalık district of Balıkesir. Alibey is the only island open to settlement among the 22 large and small islands called Ayvalık Islands in Ayvalık Bay. It is the 4th largest island in Turkey's Aegean Sea after Gökçeada, Bozcaada and Uzunada, respectively. Due to its location, it is an island at the intersection of sea routes in Western Anatolia.
