Week 2 gives us some great matchups including:

BENGALS AT CHIEFS

Was the Bengals awful performance vs New England indicative of a decline, maybe rust or could they have
been looking ahead to this major Mahomes matchup?

We were afraid that the Chiefs had gotten better and now with Xavier Worthy they now have a Tyreek-level speed
threat that they have missed since Tyreek Hill left for the Dolphins.

BEARS AT TEXANS

This could be a matchup of the 2024 Offensive Rookie of the Year(Caleb Williams) vs the 2023 Rookie of the Year (CJ Stroud)

The Bears won in truly improbable fashion as the offense did almost nothing, but the aggressive defense made the difference
(that and a truly ill-advised "throw" from Will Levis)

The Texans did exactly what great teams do, in that they won a game in which they were far from perfect.

Beating a good Colts team on the road, losing out on what could have been a FG at the end of the half due to
referee poor communication.

The Texans won a game that many teams, such as the Jaguars would lose

BROWNS AT JAGUARS

We pick on the Jaguars because we are Florida residents and we have seen them do this too much, they had the Dolphins put away,
with a 17-7 lead and were going in for a score and then fumbled into the end zone.

We think this is the difference between a playoff and non-playoff team; talent across the NFL is fairly balanced
but winning games that are there for the taking is critical to make the playoffs.

In this matchup, we think that the Jaguars focus in and put away the Browns, whose offense is sputtering.

The Browns also play far worse on the road than they did at home (in 2023) and the heat humidity advantage in September
in Jacksonville is huge. (We were there Week 2 last season against KC and neither team could move in a 17-9 boredom fest)

BUCS AT LIONS

In the never-reverse-yourself rule, we keep missing on the Bucs. We just keep waiting for Baker to revert to his old form
with the Browns but he has shown unbelievable consistency and precision during his time with the Bucs.

Similarly with Todd Bowles defense, they looked even faster than before in the game vs Washington, and likely are the favorites
in the NFC South.

The Lions almost let a great opportunity slip away. Jared Goff had a good game but almost ruined it with a critical INT
deep in Rams territory setting up a go-ahead Rams drive late in the fourth quarter.

But again, like I said about the Texans, the Lions stayed in it, tied it up and then won it in OT with a dominating,
run-first, power drive that put the Rams away.

Footnote: Should the Rams have had an opportunity to touch the ball in OT? I personally think they should play a full 10-minute OT period. Thoughts?
