Tree Pose for Osteoporosis

Описание к видео Tree Pose for Osteoporosis

Tree Pose is a great yoga pose for osteoporosis and osteopenia and to build strong bones! Standing yoga poses are weight bearing poses and are good for bone strength. Muscular contraction stimulates the bones to strengthen. Osteocyte cells are reactive to stimuli like pressure. When osteocytes receive pressure, they get stimulated and secrete protein and work with osteoblast cells to build bone. Key points to remember for tree pose:
1. Firm up and hug the muscles of your thigh around the femur bone
2. Press the standing foot firmly into the floor
3. Press the standing calf into the opposite foot to create abduction
4. Use opposing actions of grounding down and growing up tall like a tree
5. Hold the pose for 12 - 72 seconds
6. The force that strengthens the femur is abduction force
7. Practice tree pose several times a week or even daily
