Growth in pots of the same plants with different composts, and soil too. This is a review of a full video we shall publish by the end of May. That video shows three stages of growth, also spring onions growing in the same pots.

I gave no feed to these 2 litre/half gallon pots, planted 7 weeks earlier.
The plants were 6 week old spinach, variety Medania.
They grew in my unheated greenhouse, then outside in May.

1 Homeacres topsoil,
2 3 year old woodchip sieved to 4mm,
3 Mushroom compost which was still warm when I filled the pot,
4 Homemade compost turned once and sieved to 4mm, 8 months old.

On 14th May, three days before filming this video and just after filming the main video, I removed yellowing outer leaves of the spinach.
Also I picked the spring onions. The respective harvests were soil pot 10 g, wood 65 g, mushroom 20g, and homemade 15 g. This difference in harvests reflects the different nutrient availability from these composts in the first 2 to 3 weeks.
