Stepping into the world of Beatrix Potter

Beatrix Potter’s timeless tales have sold more than 250 million copies and her wonderful animal characters and the glorious Lake District countryside truly go hand in hand.
Her first book ‘The tale of Peter Rabbit’, was released in 1902 and from the success of this and a legacy from her aunt she was able to purchase Hill Top Farm in the Lake District, which began her remarkable connection to the beautiful region.

Beatrix worked closely with the national trust later in her life and when she passed away, she left 4000 acres and 14 farms in their care. Her legacy has helped long term preservation of the Lakeland landscape.

We had a recent adventure exploring the the world of Beatrix Potter attraction at Windermere and Hill Top in Near Sawrey, to bring her stories and history to life.
