CAMPAIGN ENDS SEPTEMBER 27TH AT 12AM PST !!! DON'T WAIT! DON'T HESITATE!

Ariposie is an upcoming Filipino-American artist from San Jose, California en route to becoming the next “talked about” artist on the scene. Her sound is heavily inspired by Michael Jackson, Snoh Aalegra, JMSN, and more, combined with her love of Disney Channel Original Movies, musical theatre, and romance novels. Ariposie’s recent release of “Sugar Plum Danish” expresses her eagerness to share her artistry to the world, and she is just getting started. Her first appearance as an artist was through Eliat’s single, “Don’t Stay,” making her way into the scene. Ariposie is a storyteller, open and willing to create safe space for anyone who will listen. She’s been singing since out of the womb and writing since she was 7 years old. 19 years later, Ariposie is more than ready to serve you her original music on a silver platter.

“Service With A Smile” was conceptualized back in 2021 in hopes it would get me out of my depression. At the time, I was working two jobs that drained me, working around 50 hours a week, suffering from tendinitis in both ankles, waking up at 4am and going to bed at midnight. With rarely any time to create, I began to resent everything and everyone around me. My bosses weren’t making life any easier with creating toxic work environments and establishing unnecessary behavior towards me and my colleagues. I felt I had no purpose, and felt no way to end this loop.
One night, I was having dinner with an old coworker/friend of mine whom I had wanted to collaborate with for a while and told her my situation. We had come up with a whimsical idea to make a song about our job. We had thought of too many ideas to settle it all on 1 song, so we wanted to take it to the next level. I wanted to write about different aspects of any job, ranging from difficult customers, difficult bosses, and even quitting your job. Over the last 3 years, I’ve toggled with different lyrics and creative struggles, working primarily with my partner to create a phenomenal project for people to notice. I wanted to create something that has never been done before (or if it has, let me know).
This EP is considered my love letter to anyone whose ever had a job, lost a job, loved/hated a job, so basically everyone. This is my first major project so you will not only witnessing the beginning of a huge star but you’ll also be contributing to it as well. 5 of 6 songs are already in production, with my released single, “Sugar Plum Danish” out now. I’m so excited for you to hear more of it. But I need your help to make it happen. This EP is the voice of everything you have felt and/or experienced at any job. Instead of thinking those thoughts in your head, why not find a way to express how you feel? “Service With A Smile” is just that. I want to take you on this journey and make life a little more whimsical, to laugh and sing along about your everyday life.

The goal for the $6000 is to pay for musicians, engineering, mix/mastering, promotional photoshoot, music distribution and a music video for one of the songs on the EP.

Tracklist:
1. Stuck: discussing the day-to-day routine, endless loop
2. Power: burnout, feeling no escape from home or work
3. Extra Dollar: the toxicity of pay differences, bosses
4. Dear Ms. K: difficult customers
5. Sugar Plum Danish: platonic love song for the coworkers who made the job a lot easier
6. 2 Week Notice: quitting your job (duh)

The risk with any project on Kickstarter is that it’s all or nothing. I’m a fully independent artist and my job cannot pay for everything I wish to do for this project and I know “Service With A Smile” deserves the absolute best. Without this funding, this project would not come out as promised and/or will be halted if I’m unable to pay musicians and other creatives helping with the project. Ultimately, you would be helping one of the most unique projects but it’s something worth supporting.
I have a small team and the process may take longer than expected but my ultimate goal is to release before the end of this year. Recording music takes time and patience and I do travel back and forth from Orange County to Inland Empire to make sure the EP is progressing. You will receive updates in case of any delays or hiccups.
