Tap water is MORE than ok for ALL pond fish….

Описание к видео Tap water is MORE than ok for ALL pond fish….

We get asked this question a lot! The answer is YES, of course you can use tap water in a garden pond especially if you need to clean your pond out. Ensure you treat it first with any decent de-chlorinator before you run it through your filter system or put your fish back in.

The most important thing to remember for any fish is to ensure the quality of the water is always in good order. By water quality we mean it doesn't need to be clear, the water has to be sufficiently aerated and to be free of ammonia/nitrite which is extremely poisonous to your fish and can also cause secondary infections or diseases.

If you have inherited a pond that is completely blocked up or you have had your pond for a while but haven't been able to maintain it properly and it is now overgrown or silted up, ideally a full clean is needed. You can't simply add a filtration system to clear your pond as it simply will not cope.

New ponds or mature ponds that have been maintained properly will rarely need a full clean. In our line of work we rarely see this type of pond as we only get calls to help the bad ones!
