Footage of R62 (3) trains starting and terminating at 96th Street from the downtown local track, as well as R62A (1) trains starting and terminating from the downtown express track. Due to a derailment on the evening on January 4th just north of the 96th Street station, service on the (1) (2) and (3) trains were severely impacted. Immediately after the change service was suspended on the entire 7th Avenue line between 137th Street and Wall Street. All (2) trains were rerouted via the Lexington Avenue line. In the video you can see one of the train sets still in the area, along with equipment on the northbound platforms as crews inspected the tracks.

Partial service on the (1) and (3) resumed on the Upper West Side, with trains only traveling as far south as 96th Street. From Downtown and Brooklyn, (1) and (3) trains only operated up to Times Square - 42nd Street. Shuttle buses provided service to affected stations without service to (A) (B) and (C) stations along Central Park West or down to Times Square. Southbound (2) train service was partially restored along the 7th Avenue line on January 5th. Service on the entire line resumed regular service by January 8th.
