In this first impressions video, we dive into Folklore Hunter, developed and published by Liquid Donkey Games, and I immediately fell in love with the concept and atmosphere. This haunting adventure blends folklore, survival, and mystery into something that feels eerie, immersive, and genuinely unsettling.

During our playthrough, we set out to hunt the wendigo, only to encounter a series of disturbing and unforgettable moments — a creepy, haunting carnival tucked away in the woods, the distant and eerie calls of a little girl echoing through the trees, a vanishing cabin that disappears before your eyes, and hints of a mysterious ritual buried deep in the shadows. Each encounter feels carefully crafted to pull you deeper into the world’s strange and supernatural lore.

What really grabbed me was how Folklore Hunter uses atmosphere and storytelling to build tension. The environments feel alive with mystery and dread, promising stories and secrets just beyond the edge of your flashlight’s beam. It’s rare for a game’s concept to hook me so early — and even rarer for its atmosphere to stay with me long after playing — but this one does both beautifully.

If you’re into folklore-inspired horror, eerie exploration, and games that get under your skin with atmosphere rather than cheap shocks, this is definitely one you’ll want to check out.
