Drive through Kenya & Lunch at Trout Tree Restaurant

Описание к видео Drive through Kenya & Lunch at Trout Tree Restaurant

David our driver picked us up from Giraffe Manor and other passengers from their hotel in Nairobi.

After driving for about 3 hours, on the Kenyan roads, we stopped for lunch at Trout Tree Restaurant.

The Trout Tree Restaurant is built in and around a huge Sacred Fig Tree it is nestled on the Burguret River below Mount Kenya.

Elsen Karstad was recruited to manage the trout farm by the Tamarind management in 1984.

In 1996 Elsen and his business partner John Njuguna bought the place and they successfully run it today as part of East Africa’s largest commercial trout farm.

Everyone enjoyed their meals at the restaurant, the trout and steak was cooked to perfection.

They dip crates of beer in the water in the river below to keep them chilled, that’s cool.

Colubus Monkeys live here in the trees and they are so beautiful with their long black and white tails.

Opening hours for Trout Tree Restaurant
Monday Saturday 10am-4.45pm
Sunday 10am-5.00pm.
