EXMOUTH Devon UK August 2021 - Exmouth Beach & Seafront - 4K Virtual Walk

Join us for a walk in Exmouth, Devon, England. We walk along Exmouth seafront, starting by the clock tower on the Esplanade. Exmouth's clock tower was built to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee in 1897. We walk the whole length of Exmouth seafront to the end of Exmouth beach where the Exmouth Watersports & Activity Centre is situated together with Bumble and Sea.

Exmouth is one of the oldest and most picturesque seaside towns in Devon. The town is the gateway to the World Heritage Jurassic Coast and has two miles of sandy beach, which is perfect for water sports and walks.

Exmouth is on the South east coast of Devon where the river Exe meets the sea. Close to Exeter, this vibrant town offers plenty of walking and cycling routes and water sports as well as local shops and restaurants to enjoy all year round.

Exmouth is known as a regional centre for water sports – particularly Kite Surfing, kayaking and windsurfing – but you can do pretty much any water sport here. Exmouth Beach is a beautiful sandy golden beach, perfect for summer days at the seaside, building sandcastles, swimming or playing in the rockpools, or try Sandy Bay - a haf mile private beach in a secluded bay. Take a scenic boat trip out across the coast to take in the breathtaking scenery and local history.

The picturesque Exe Estuary cycle trail runs from Exmouth to Dawlish along the banks of the estuary, passing many wildlife spots, cafes, shops and coastal towns, making it the ideal place for an active day out exploring Exmouth and the surrounds. The South West Coast Path runs through the town as it makes its way along the South coast. Walk to the East of the town and you can enjoy spectacular coastal walks along the dramatic cliffs of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. This stretch of coast line dates back over 250million years, you may even find a fossil or two as you enjoy the stunning views. If you dont fancy the walk - do a cruise with Stuart Line Cruises to enjoy the stunning coastline.

Exmouth Festival is held every year late May – early June, a free festival full of music, arts, theatre and food.

In August, the skies are full of colour with the Kite Festival – a great fun family day out with competitions, routines and stunts that will amaze and delight.

If you are a seafood lover, don’t miss the Spirit of the Exe and Exmouth Mussel Festival in September – try delicious local mussels alongside local wines, ales and learn how to cook them at the chef’s stage.

Exmouth is surrounded by the sea, the River Exe and the South Devon countryside so fresh local produce is in abundance. From fresh fish and chips, to celebrity chefs and fine dining Exmouth has an eclectic mix of restaurants on offer in the town and along the seafront.

As a centre for seafood you can be assured that the freshest local catch fish will end up on your plate at the end of the day. Make sure you try the Exmouth mussels which are locally farmed and freshly caught.

Exmouth is the Western Gateway to the World Heritage Jurassic Coast, a fantastic journey through the Earth's geology that begins at the town’s five metre high futuristic cone of the Geoneedle at Orcombe Point.

Exmouth’s more recent history can been seen in the towns wide range of Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian architecture and has been a popular tourist spot since the 18th century.
