A patent is a legal document issued by a patent office formally conferring on an inventor the “right” to exclude others from making, using, selling and so forth that particular invention for a certain period of time (usually twenty years). A person should not be patent analyst with out knowledge in law and technical field.

Understanding the basic concepts of science and technology is necessary to develop and file a patent. A person who is proficient enough to delicately understand and draw the patent, as filing a patent is costly and any mistake would be a major setback for the company or the innovator.
