Durston X-Mid 2P Snow Pitch on Mt Rainier

Here are some comments on the Dursten X-Mid 2 Person (V2) pitched on the snow of Mount Rainier at camp Muir, elevation 10,000. Summary: The tent did really well for our conditions (warm temps in the 30s and moderate wind to 30 mph) and I wouldn’t hesitate to take it again. I’m looking forward to taking it on summer trips and more ski tours next year.

I replaced the stock guylines with longer 1.3mm Z-line to make it easy to use our skis as snow anchors. Durston recommends using larger than 2mm line for the Lineloc on this tent and doing it over I’d follow their recommendation.
