Overcoming the Pull of the Ego

A man from Toronto says that, although he is becoming more grounded in awareness and experiencing more peace, he still feels pulled in by the demands of the separate self and the dominant culture. He asks for guidance in maintaining the presence of awareness. Rupert suggests that instead of engaging with the noise of the world, the man focus on 'raising the volume' of awareness. Using this approach, the pull of the world will lessen without his having to battle against it.
