Ever since I first saw Star Wars as a kid all I've ever wanted is a to be a Jedi Knight and wield a lightsaber. Well the time has finally arrived and I was able to purchase a Replica Graflex empty hilt. Who makes the best replica Graflex lightsabers you might ask? After a fair amount of searching online at stores like The Pach Store, Vader's Vault, Korbanth, The Graflex Shop, Etsy and others I finally chose to go with the Roman Props Flashgun 8: Converted & “Battle Worn” lightsaber hilt from RomanProps.com. The Graflex is the first lightsaber we see in Star Wars Episode 4: A New Hope when Obi Wan Kenobi gives Luke his father's (Anakin Skywalker) lightsaber. A few changes were made to it when we see it again in The Empire Strikes back but it is lost at the end of the film during Luke's dual with Darth Vader. It wasn't until 2015 when Episode 7: The Force Awakens was released that we saw this lightsaber again when Rey discovered it in Maz Kanata's basement. The Roman Props Flashgun 8 is a replica of that particular version of Anakin/Luke Skywalker's lightsaber. It's the same version Rey tries to return to Luke at the end of The Force Awakens, and ends up basically inheriting and using in Episode 8: The Last Jedi. In this video I do my best to give you an up close look at this replica flashgun/lightsaber hilt, compare it to the hilt we see in The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, go over what Battle Worn means, and show you how to disassemble it just as you would a Vintage Graflex flashgun. If you're a fan of Star Wars and have ever wanted to be a Jedi and own a lightsaber and/or are looking into picking up a replica Skywalker family lightsaber hilt (aka Graflex) it may be worth your while to give Roman Props a look. :)
