"Liar CM" whose family is allegedly embroiled in corruption involving 4,000 acres of land, was the scathing label used by MP Gaurav Gogoi during his Parivartan Yatra speech at Pothorughat in the Sipajhar Constituency. Addressing the crowd, Gogoi claimed that Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma made a mockery of his office and embarrassed himself on a national stage during a marathon 2.5-hour press conference that failed to provide satisfactory answers to journalists. Gogoi further asserted that the CM underestimates the intelligence of Assam’s citizens and suggested that the findings of a recent SIT report have left the administration worried. Predicting a shift in the upcoming elections, Gogoi stated that the people of Assam are ready to "throw out" the current leadership in response to these widespread allegations of land scams and corruption.
