They Were Murdered After Summiting This Peak? - Mt Delenbaugh, Arizona

Описание к видео They Were Murdered After Summiting This Peak? - Mt Delenbaugh, Arizona

Were the deserters from John Wesley Powells first expedition down the Colorado river murdered after summiting Mount Delenbaugh.
Perhaps we will never know.
One of the deserters, William Dunn, climbed to the top of Mount Delenbaugh to get his bearings and scrawled his name and date (1869) on a rock near the summit.
So I had two objectives, bag the peak and see if I could find Dunns inscription!
Mount Delenbaugh is very remote, over eighty miles down a dirt road deep into the Shivwits Plateau. Views from the summit are incredible, looking south over the Grand Canyon and north at the Arizona Strip.
This trip was awesome!
So join me as I head deep into the Arizona backcountry to have a look!
