Many parents have asked me to provide tips on how to potty train a special needs child.
Here’s the video for you all.

Watch the video to learn some simple tips, also modify it according to your child’s preferences and needs.

Some tips to remember:
*Take the child to the bathroom every 40 mins

*Neutralise the toilet seat temperature by rubbing a hot cloth or blowing the hair dryer

*Spray the toilet with a nice scent so your child finds it enticing

*Flash Cards - to show use of potty

*Imitate for your child, if the child has no sibling
*Child can learn by watching a sibling using the toilet

*Floor is not cold /wet

*Hang up posters / keep sensory toys for the child inside the toilet

*Reward the child with praises, hugs, kisses or stickers

*Ditch the diaper when you’re ready
