The House of Representatives has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting policies, legislation, and oversight aimed at strengthening the welfare, capacity, and professionalism of the Nigerian Armed Forces in the pursuit of a secure and peaceful nation.

In a statement to mark the 2026 Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day, the House Spokesman, Akin Rotimi, says the Green Chamber honours the gallantry, discipline, and dedication of Nigeria’s military personnel, especially in the fight against terrorism and banditry, and in safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity.

The House pledged continued legislative backing to ensure the Armed Forces are well-equipped, motivated, and supported in carrying out their constitutional duties.
